What this site collects, what I do with it, and how to get rid of it. Short version: very little, and none of it goes anywhere.
This site has no analytics, no cookies and no tracking of any kind. Nothing follows you around, and nothing about your visit is recorded or sold. The only information I get is what you type into the request form and send me on purpose.
The form on the contact page asks for your name, phone number, email address, what needs doing, and optionally your address or town.
When you send it, that goes straight to my email inbox. It is not saved to this website or to any database. The site emails it to me and forgets it.
I use it to get back to you, work out a price, and do the job. If we go ahead, the same details end up in my normal business records — the quote, the invoice, the schedule — the same as if you had called me.
I do not send marketing email. If you contact me and nothing comes of it, you will not hear from me again unless you get in touch.
When I send you a quote or an invoice, it goes to a private web page with a long unguessable link, sent to you by email and text. Those pages hold the work description, the pricing, and photos of the job. They are not listed anywhere and search engines cannot find them — but anyone you forward the link to can open it, so treat it like you would the invoice itself.
Card and bank payments are handled by Stripe. Your card details go to Stripe directly and I never see or store them.
I take photos of the work — before, during and after. They are how I show you what was done behind a wall or under a sink, and they are on your invoice page.
I do not put photos of your home on this website, on social media, or in any listing without asking you first. The photos in the gallery are there because the owner said yes. If you would rather I never use yours, say so at any point — before, during or years afterwards — and that is the end of it.
I do not sell, rent or trade your information, ever. A few ordinary services carry it as part of doing business, and each only gets what it needs:
Beyond that, the only time your details go anywhere is when the job needs it — ordering a part in your name, or a supplier delivering to your address — and only ever the piece that is needed.
Quotes, invoices and job records are kept for as long as I have to for tax and insurance, and because a customer calling back in three years to ask what color their hallway was is genuinely common. Enquiries that never turned into work get cleared out as I come across them.
